As I promised you Medi, I made your spinach au gratin with small changes.

  • 500 g frozen spinach
  • 200 g cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 70 g butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 red
  • 6-7 cloves garlic
  • 1 link green parsley
  • salt
  • pepper

RECIPE HOW TO PREPARE Baked spinach with cheese:

Put in a pan pieces of butter, crushed garlic and thawed spinach. Saute for a few minutes. Grate the cheese on a grater with large holes and add 1/2 of the amount in the spinach, taking the pan off the heat. Then add in turn the flour, spices and milk, mix until smooth.

In a yenna bowl greased with a little butter, add the spinach and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Add the tomato slices, on top and the green parsley. Beat the eggs well and turn them over the spinach. In the preheated oven, place the yanna dish and leave it until the spinach is browned on top, about 30-35 minutes. When serving, sprinkle green parsley over the portion.

We have made these onions stuffed with meat about 3 times so far and we really liked them. Peeled onions and stuffed with minced meat mixed with vegetables and cheese is simply delicious. The meat I chose was pork (fatter) to which I added garlic, onion (hollowed core), peppers and greens (parsley and green dill) as well as a little grated Parmesan. No egg is needed because it strengthens the filling. To get a more airy ("fluffy") minced meat, people generally put bread crumbs soaked in water or milk. I decided to put breadcrumbs with milk.

Towards the end of baking, I sprinkled the onions filled with a little grated cheese and au gratin. A delight! I ate them with a simple garnish of couscous.

:) I wasn't a big fan of spinach either, but I tried the spinach pudding with the idea that there isn't a lot of spinach in it. But in the end I ended up making spinach pudding quite often, and even spinach pie. Now I'm not running away from "quotburians", as soon as I think I'll experience something with some stevia.

It is not impossible to be a matter of taste. But, liking your spinach, I think you could give it another try. Maybe you put too much milk, I wrote in the recipe & quotputin & quot, thinking about 2-3 tablespoons. Too much milk diminishes the "ability" of eggs to coagulate. Then, you have to pay attention to the spinach water. I wrote that we let the spinach boil for 10 minutes, but if it contains more water, then it will have to be boiled more - in part, we boil / temper the pudding for the pudding to get rid of the excess water. And you don't have to forget about a tablespoon of flour.

Since I was little I grew up with spinach, cooked mainly by Grandma Sia, in the form of puree. I raised Luca as well, with a lot of spinach in my diet and without looking at the drawings with Popeye the sailor, spinach is his favorite food. So, from time to time we change the recipe, because I wouldn't want him to get bored and stop popping it. That's how I got to today's version, baked spinach, with egg, of course (of which one in sight, as Luca is no longer enchanted that the egg is "inside", if he doesn't see it, he doesn't believe me). It is easy to make, delicious and makes a good impression even on those who are not normally "green" fans.

Ingredient Baked spinach

  • 400g frozen spinach
  • 2 eggs
  • a medium white onion
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 125 ml sweet cream
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 200ml milk
  • 200g grated cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Cut the onion into small pieces and heat it in oil until it becomes transparent. Put the frozen spinach over the onion and sauté them together until the spinach is done. Separately, mix the milk, sweet cream and flour (use a whisk, so as not to make lumps) and pour them over the spinach. Mix well and let them boil for a while.

Then put the crushed garlic, salt and pepper to taste, add the cream cheese, mix well and leave for 2-3 minutes on low heat until the cheese melts. We are going to add half of the grated cheese and an egg. Stir again and remove from the heat. Put the spinach in a heat-resistant bowl greased with butter, put the rest of the grated cheese on top and break an egg on top.

Put the spinach in the oven heated to 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until it makes a nice crust and the egg is done. Let it cool a little before serving and know that it is just as good and hot and cold. I look forward to your impressions, especially if you try it.
